ALL FORTY FIVE polling stations executives of the North Suntreso Electoral Area of the Bantama constituency have endorsed Nana Akufo-Addo for the forth coming New Patriotic Party presidential primaries. The North Suntreso Electoral Area, also known as Bantama Ward 5 is a well organized NPP group made up of all polling station executives and party members in the electoral area. They meet every Sunday to discuss party issues and the welfare of its members. They have been meeting regularly since the days of Danqua-Busia Club.

The last meeting was held to deliberate on the campaign messages of Nana Akufo-Addo and Alan Kyerematen who have visited the Bantama constituency. Speaker after speaker explained the need to maintain Nana Akufo-Addo as the NPP presidential candidate since he has already been marketed to Ghanaians. They argued that their support for Nana Addo is dictated by the overwhelming support Nana Addo enjoys from the grassroots. They said all the party sympathizers are calling on them to vote for Nana Addo.

Mr. Kofi Nkrumah is the chairman of Bantama Ward 5 and also chairman of the Akosa Primary polling station. He maintains that it will be politically unwise for the NPP to change Nana Akufo-Addo. “The greatest mistake the NPP could make is to change Nana Akufo-Addo as the NPP presidential candidate” Mr. Nkrumah asserted. The polling executives also condemned the fake posters of Nana Addo printed by some faceless individuals whose sole agenda it to discredit Nana Addo.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye (Kabila), founding president of TESCON and leading member of the Bantama constituency. He said the party must do for Nana Addo what it did for President Kufuor in 1998. He said if you look at the relative strength of all the presidential candidates in the December 8 elections, Nana Addo was the most popular of all as he led by over 100,000 votes. Mr. Asenso-Boakye said that Nana has the will and experience to unite the party after the primaries. He described Nana Addo as compassionate, selfless and a visionary leader who will whose sole objective in politics is to promote the general well being of all Ghanaians.
