NPP’s Paul Afoko has noted that – frequent suspensions in the party is “worrying” and unnecessary in recent times.

According to him, the NPP must have a second thought of its excessive suspensions which he described as “unconstitutional”.

Paul Afoko who himself is facing an indefinite suspension for his alleged insubordination in the party said this in an interview with UTV’s morning show dubbed 'Adekye Nsroma' on Wednesday morning.

The beleaguered NPP chairman was emphatic that – leadership of the NPP are being autocratic in their style of leadership – “If you don’t side with them, then they see you as their enemy.”

He explained that the only time the party can suspend any national executive is after a crunch meeting has been held by all regional and constituency executives to decide the faith of the person.

“They [NPP executive] did not ask of the view of all these members before suspending me, Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe. Suspension is not in our constitution and what they did is unconstitutional,” he said.
