‘Nov polls will be hot but…’

National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast North constituency, Mr. Kobby Acheampong, has observed that the upcoming November 7 General Elections will be a very hot race but the ruling government will win based on its good performance.

According to him, he and his campaign team are going to work every inch of the space to win the elections by bringing everyone on board to ensure massive victory for the party in the constituency.

He was confident that the good works of his predecessor, Lawyer Barton-Odro, coupled with the massive transformational development President John Dramani Mahama has embarked upon in the constituency, will enhance the party’s chance of winning the elections in the area.

Mr. Acheampong made this known during a keep fit exercise he organised for party members in his constituency at Aburaon at the weekend.

He stated that he was coming to continue the good works of his predecessor to improve the living standard of the constituents.

“We need development in this constituency so we need to access our living standards as a people to vote for the party that can better our lives,” he advised.

The NPP parliamentary candidate pointed out that the keep fit exercise was a move to mobilise and interact with the whole constituency in preparation to the start of a major campaign towards the main elections in November.

He added that his team will be systematically engaging in a number of activities aimed at bringing the whole community together to empower them to take different actions on behalf of the president and himself to ensure victory for the NDC.

“I know the election is not going to be a cake walk, there is going to be a lot of hard work that we have to engage in but systematically, we will bring it together on November 7,” he said.

Touching on his vision for the constituency, the parliamentary aspirant stated that he will empower the members of the party since it was critical in ensuring victory for the NDC.

He added that he will also continue on the path of his predecessor and do whatever has to be done to develop the area.

“I’m going to make sure I have the electorate fully under my grasps by working with them to get me elected successfully,” he assured.

Mr. Acheampong expressed his sympathy for his opponent, Mrs. Barbara Asher Ayisi, on the attempted attack on her by a “lunatic,” saying he does not wish that on her and thanked God for seeing her through the ordeal unharmed.
