Ho, Nov. 17, GNA-Mr Stephen Ntim, Current National First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Aspiring National Chairman of the party on Wednesday re-stated how crucial research, public relations, and empowerment were for the fate of the party in 2008 general elections.

Mr Ntim, who was addressing the press after meeting with delegates in the Volta Regional Capital, Ho, as part of nationwide campaign tour said his intervention was to get rid of the growing apathy in the party and to bridge the information gap within the party. He said the NPP as a party was not able to use its machinery to raise its image at the constituencies.

On his contribution to the growth of the party, Mr Ntim said he had personally provided letterheads for all the constituencies, entertainment materials to keep the offices lively and to attract new members and also provided some vehicles and television sets for all party secretariats.

Asked why he waited to be elected chairman before he corrected things he found wrong, Mr Ntim who claimed he was going to win hands down said, " as the First Vice Chairman, certain things were not within my means those within my means were the empowering of the various constituencies which he did".

He said it was due to the good relationship he had with the constituencies that they were all rooting out for him adding that " they know me and what I can do therefore I'm only here to nurture the relationship and to tell them what is next for the party". Mr Ntim earlier visited delegates at Kadjebi, Hohoe, North Dayi, and Sogakofe.
