Nyantakyi's Saga: Nana B exposes Kofi Adams

The National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) has exposed the blatant lies and propaganda inherent in the statement issued by the National Organizer of the NDC, Kofi Adams.

He says Mr. Adams deliberately decided to run the president down despite evidences of document provided to prove that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo aided FIFA in their investigations.

It would be recalled that, following the lifetime ban on Kwesi Nyantakyi from all football-related activities by FIFA, Mr Kofi Adams issued a statement accusing the government of dereliction of duty due to the alleged involvement of President Akufo-Addo in the bribery scandal.

The NDC's statement further suggested that government never collaborated with FIFA’s Ethics Committee because of a ‘cover up’ agenda by the latter.

But contributing to a panel discussion on Peacefm's "Kokrokoo" Programme, Nana B emphatically stated that the Government of Ghana assisted FIFA in the process by providing them the necessary information and evidence such as transcript and videos in their investigations.

In an interesting revelation, Nana B produced an e-mail, dated 19th September, 2018, from the Ethics Committee of FIFA to the Deputy Attorney General, Godfred Dame requesting for further information and documentation ostensibly to aid the committee in its investigations.

The e-mail in part read, “we acknowledge receipt of various documentations and information brought to the attention of the Chairperson of the investigatory Chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee. A letter dated 17th September, 2018, twelve e-mails sent on 17th September, 2018 with various enclosures, in particular an interview transcript, a hard copy of the Dzamefe Commission report, a USB stick containing the “Anas video”.

“The disclosure of the above-mentioned information is highly appreciated and will be of considerable value when pursuing the proceedings against Mr. Nyantakyi.”

The NPP thus rhetoricaaly quizzed "so what else do you expect this government to do so far as the case was concern?"

"Contrary to the assertions of Kofi Adams, the Ethics Committee of FIFA was successful in its investigations due to the significant contribution from the Government of Ghana," he added.

To him, this revelation renders Kofi Adams’ accusations against the government "whimsical, baseless and frivolous".
