Offinso North Assembly steps up efforts towards development

The Offinso North District Assembly has stepped up its efforts at transforming the socio-economic conditions of the people in the area by spreading development projects across the various communities.

These include classroom structures at Nkenkansu, Bosomponso, Tanokwaeem, Saneso Number-One and Broba, kindergarten blocks at Nyinatiase and Medokwae.

The construction of teachers’ accommodation at Mantukwa, Nkenkansu, Saneso Number-One and Papasisi, are other projects.

Mr Samuel Kojo Appiah-Kubi, the District Chief Executive (DCE), also mentioned the building of a community-based health planning and services compounds at Tanokwaem, Amaponsakrom and Saneso Number-One.

The Ghana News Agency visited the area to help put the media spotlight on how government financial resources are helping to make things better for the rural population.

Mr Appiah-Kubi said apart from the health and school structures, the Assembly has been carrying out routine maintenance works on some feeder roads to make it easier to transport food crops from the farm gates to the marketing centres.

This was being done with the Assembly’s share of the District Development Facility.

He cited Afrancho-Tanokwaem, Saneso-Bosomponso, Saneso-Nyinatiase and Asempanaye-Papasisi among roads tackled.

The DCE again spoke of the progress they the Assembly is making towards the construction of a permanent administration block and staff bungalows to ease the acute office and residential accommodation faced by the workers.

The Assembly currently operates from a community library and said it is unacceptable and does not allow for effective running of business.

He said it the Assembly is using its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund to build administration block and bungalows.
