Effiduase (Ash), Nov 13, GNA - A post-district level elections survey conducted in the Sekyere East District showed that out of the 48 electoral seats in the assembly, only three women won their seats. In all, 16 female candidates contested the elections. Out of the 48 elected candidates, seven members retained their seats while the rest are new members.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Effiduase at the weekend, Mr Francis Opoku, the District Electoral Officer, said no electoral malpractices such as cheating, multiple registration or impersonation were recorded.

He said no protests had also been filed and praised both the losing and winning candidates for their maturity. 13 Nov 06
