With just a few days to polls, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) upcoming parliamentary primaries have taken an international dimension.
Former Ghanaian footballer Samuel Osei Kufuor has added his voice to the upcoming party elections all the way from South Africa, his base.
The football legend Saturday evening virtually turned into a campaign manager for Kwadwo Boateng Genfi aka ‘Boat’, who is contesting the Suame NPP seat.
The ex-Bayern Munich stopper boldly predicted victory for Boat who is hunting for Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, the Minority Leader’s seat.
Kufuor, who is a panel member of Supersports in South Africa, used the big sports platform on the African continent to comment on the impending NPP primaries.
He had earlier predicted that Barcelona of Spain would defeat Juventus 3-1 to lift the 2014/15 European Champions League trophy in Berlin, Germany.
Kufuor, who without doubt was on cloud nine after his correct prediction, temporarily shifted from sports and zoomed into full-time NPP politics.
Beaming with smiles, the ex-Ghana defender stated that Boat was certainly going to emerge victorious in the NPP elections at Suame on Saturday.
Kufuor stated that he was happy that Barcelona had won the European Champions League just as he had predicted.
Still in the prediction mood, he stressed that “My uncle Boat is contesting in an election in my home country Ghana, and I know he will win.”
