Kumasi (Ash), Aug. 12, GNA - Mr Isaac Osei, a defeated flag-bearer aspirant of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on all members and supporters of the party to line up behind the elected Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, to wrest political power in Election 2012.

He said they should all hold together, work hard and make the needed sacrifices to bring the party back to power.

Mr Osei, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin, was addressing a meeting with polling station executives in the constituency at the Aseda House in Kumasi on Thursday.

It was to thank them for the support and encouragement they gave him during the just ended novelty presidential primaries.

He repeated his pledge to use his resources, services and knowledge to help Nana Akufo-Addo to lead the NPP to electoral victory in the general elections, a little over two years away.

Mr Osei said given the poor performance of the government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the ruling party faced imminent humiliating defeat.

He said one-and-a-half years into the Mills Administration "it has nothing positive to boast of."

Ghanaians, he said, were looking up to the NPP to save them from the worsening economic situation and the party could simply not fail the nation.

Mr Osei said this is the more reason why they should stay united and move the campaign to win more voters for the NPP into gear.
