The convener of the Forum for Governance and Justice, Dr. Clement Apaak says the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has been very partisan in its work.

He said the posture of the chairman and some members of the committee have not helped matters in relation to the issues being investigated.

Dr. Apaak’s criticism comes amidst protestation from Former Attorney General, Betty Mould-Iddrisu who stated that she has been vilified by some members of the public accounts committee.

Speaking on Radio XYZ’s current Affairs program, The Analyst on Saturday, Dr. Apaak said the partisan nature would make it very difficult for the state to get meet the purpose of setting up the committee.

“The very partisan nature that the issue of judgment debt has taken would make it almost impossible for us as a nation to find out who caused what, the circumstances leading and the conditions under which the state may have paid or settled claims against the State”.

“The Public Accounts Committee has been so Partisan that it no longer has the capacity to help us unravel where we went wrong and who caused what” Mr. Apaak said.

Meanwhile, a member of the NPP communications team, Sakar Salia disagreed with the concerns of Dr. Apaak.

According to him, the chairman and members of the committee who are being condemned have rather acted in good faith and are doing Ghana a lot of good with their postures.**
