Tamale, Oct. 10, GNA - The Northern Regional branch of the People'= s National Convention (PNC) has developed and started initiating strategies t= o win six seats in Parliament during the forth coming elections in 2012. Alhaji Zakari Alhassan, the Regional Chairman of the Party, said this when they held three constituency elections in Tamale North, South and Central to select officers to promote the ideals of the party. In the three constituencies, all the aspirants who contested for the various positions of Chairman, Secretary, Organizer, Youth Organizer, Women Organizer and the Treasurer, stood unopposed.
Alhaji Alhassan said he believed the PNC would win the six constituencies due to the fact that both the ruling National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party had failed the youth in the Northern parts of the country. He said "we look upon to Nkrumah/Limann as the foremost patriots and w= e stretch our arms to all Ghanaians to join us in our quest for true politica= l and economic freedom".
Mr Abudull Razak, Regional Youth Organiser of PNC, said the Ghanaian political landscape calls for a viable third force to balance the political antagonism between the National Democratic Congress and New Patriotic Party= ..
He said "we need a third force to ensure that the two political forces of the country adhere to the tenets of democratic governance, focus on huma= n centred policies and speak for the ordinary people of this country". He said the PNC was ready to alleviate the pervading poverty in the country through agriculture led programs and would provide better opportunities for the youth adding that 93the Better Ghana Agenda of the ruling NDC had failed and it would be a wise decision for all Ghanaians to vote massively for PNC to help bring change to the nation."
