PNC has what it takes to form the next government- Policy Advisor

Kumasi, Sept. 15, GNA - The Peoples National Convention (PNC) says it has the ideas and capabilities to transform Ghana into a prosperous and wealthy nation.

Mr Atik Mohammed, Policy Advisor of the Party, said the political body have what it takes to form a credible government and is just waiting for th= e opportunity to prove its worth. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, ahead of a capacity building workshop for functionaries of the Party, he said some concrete policies of the PNC are being implemented by the government. These, he said, include the Ghana Education Trust Fund, Ghana School Feeding Programme, National Identification System, which were proposed by the PNC in its 1996, 2000 and 2004 political manifestoes. He said the Party was embarking on nationwide capacity-building programme to help members at the grassroots to do effective organisation an= d political education campaign towards Election 2012. The programme is aimed at reviving and injecting vibrancy into the Part= y structures to win more voters.

Mr Mohammed said the programme, supported by the Netherlands Institute for Multi-Party Democracy and the Institute for Economic Affairs, would aid the PNC to discover credible and winnable parliamentary candidates. Mr Fatchu Henry, Upper East Regional Secretary of PNC, said the 2012 election was crucial for the Party to redeem Ghanaians from their present socio-economic woes.
