Koforidua Dec. 03 GNA - The People's National Convention (PNC) says it is the best alternative to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government come 2012 and urged Ghanaians to support it to come to power.

In a statement issued in Koforidua and signed by Mr Yakubu Salifu, Eastern Regional Secretary of PNC, said it had been one year now since Ghanaians decided to bring back the NDC under Professor John Evans Atta Mills due to the sweet promises made to them.

The statement said unfortunately Ghanaians did not know where exactly they were heading to

as a nation that had already been in shambles. "If we cast our minds back to just last year or beyond, one would see that, life was just bad with a refined system of corrupt Government that has made the poor more poorer and the rich riding on the shoulders of the poor enjoying their wealth".

The statement said yet Ghanaians had some hope as a nation but now under the NDC led government that hope was fading It said the government instead of addressing itself to the task, it rather chose to blame its predecessor, witch hunting and calculated lies every day. The statement said Ghanaians knew very well the socio-political situation on the ground and that was why they rejected the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government and voted for the NDC.

The statement asked why the accusations every time the President and his ministers were asked of what was going on. It said the previous administration created an atmosphere to encourage children to attend

school by implementing the PNC introduced school feeding programme but questioned why one

should go to school only to complete and still be a burden on his parents and society. It said the PNC could implement that better and observed that corruption under the NDC has

now emerged in new styles and it is deep at the ministries and agencies. "The only and best alternative to check this anomaly is to bring the PNC to power since the

NDC has proved to be a complete failure". "The PNC would produce and control a progressive government under a good leadership

who would identify problems and deal with them better but not like President Mills who would

continuously be shifting blames and keep on violating the constitution." The statement said a PNC led government would never turn its cabinet into a talking shop and

a tea party. "It definitely would know that the people of Ghana would not eat, wear or live under the roof

of cheap propaganda". The statement appealed to Ghanaians to start thinking about a better alternative come 2012 so

that together "we can make a fresh start in our lofty aim to rescue Ghana from its present rapid

decline towards national humiliation, disgrace and eventual total destruction".
