Dr Machael Namalteng Wombeogo, PNC parliamentary candidate for Talensi Constituency, has pledged his commitment to be one of the givers of opportunities for the people of Talensi if given the nod in the July 7 Parliamentary elections.

Dr Wombeogo, a lecturer at the University of Development Studies, said Members of Parliament of other political parties who were voted for to represent the people in Parliament, failed to bring the needed development to improve the lives of the people.

Therefore, he said, it was his turn to take the mantle to ensure that the district got its fair share of development.

He said the Talensi district had not seen development during the long reign of the NDC and NPP, laying emphasis on the poor road network, lack of hospital to befit the status of the district and other essential services.

Dr Wombeogo spoke in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Namolgo where he had started his campaign trail to solicit for votes in the forthcoming parliamentary elections ,.

The elections became necessary after the former Member of Parliament, Mr Robert Nachinnab Mosore Doaneng, resigned after he was made Chief of the area.

This is the third time the PNC Parliamentary aspirant said he had not given up and indicated that his third attempt would prove to be the right time for victory as he was the people’s choice.

He also reiterated his passion and enthusiasm to serve his people, “ I love my people and want to be part of their success because giving opportunities for the people to make life meaningful to themselves is key “ he stressed.

The candidate refuted rumors that candidates did not win votes from electoral areas they did not hail from, and said that was a perception and was hopeful of massive win in all areas and success for the party during the 2016 elections.

As part of plans, the candidate said he would not renege on education of the youth, which he said was crucial and added that provision of technical and formal education for the youth was critical and would help in resource management of the district.

Mr Benard Mornah, PNC General Secretary, who was in the district with other party members to support the candidate in his campaign, said he was the best choice for the party, to push its agenda forward.

He urged all not to accept monetary favours from any political party.

The PNC secretary said the party was sure to win and therefore was not reneging on its efforts.

In Tongo where political parties balloted for positions to be placed on the ballot paper, he indicated that the party was committed to a peaceful process, and would not be intimidated by anybody.

He added that the PNC party would not be characterized by foul language.
