Agona Swedru, Aug. 8, GNA - Ms Agnes Naana Amoah, Acting Western Regional Women's Organizer of New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to the National Executive Committee of the Party to choose Mrs Gladys Asamh as Running Mate of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in Election 2008. She said the NPP Flag bearer needed a true member of the Party with credible and competent record to beat the main Opposition Party National Democratic Congress (NDC). Making the appeal through Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Swedru on Thursday, Ms Amoah said Mrs Asmah, Member of Parliament for Takoradi had quality managerial skills to care for members especially women. Ms Amoah who is also the Women's Organizer for Effia-Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region said Mrs Asmah who is also Minister for Fisheries, had support across the country due to her extraordinary leadership qualities in Ghanaian politics. She said Mrs Asmah then Minister for Women and Children's Affairs, assisted women to be granted loans and other facilities to improve their living standards and through her Ministry, many Ghanaians had developed interest in fish farming and other fishing activities.
