Ho, Jan 16, GNA - The bringing together of technocrats and party activists to wine and dine at the Ho Residency last Sunday turned out to be an attempt to mix water with oil.
The technocrats became mere onlookers as the activists had a field day, helping themselves to what was available.
In the end the hapless technocrats left the party as they came. Invitations to the guests stated that the event was for the Heads of Departments but the presence of some of the new National Executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and some party stalwarts attracted many party activists to the residency.
That unexpected influx of guests resulted in skirmishes between the activists and stewards who were overwhelmed.
Present at the function were Mr Peter Mac-Manu, NPP National Chairman, Nana Ohene Ntow, General Secretary, Maj Courage Quashigah (RTD), the Minister of Health, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, the Minister of State in-charge of Regional Co-operation and NEPAD, Prof Mike Ocquaye, the Minister of Energy, Mr Kofi Dzamesi, the Volta Regional Minister and his deputy Mr Joseph Kwaku Nayan and District Chief executives in the Volta Region.
