Politicians love political parties than the country - Chairman Kokofu

Former Member of Parliament for Bantama, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has disclosed that politicians love their political parties more than the country Ghana.

According to him, politicians themselves care very little for the average Ghanaian and therefore people should not think that politicians love them and thus they must fight their battles for them.

“Absolutely nobody thinks about the country first; we all think about ourselves first, our families second, our parties third, maybe, our communities fourth and Ghana comes a distant fifth or sixth or even tenth,’’ Henry Kokofu exclusively told Kwame Tutu on Anopa Nkomo on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7

In the view of the Politician, politicians now think about their families first and relegate national issues that require patriotism to the background. “…Nationalism and patriotism have become very deficient in Ghana today.

He also explained that the level of unpatroitism is glaringly evident in the way public officials operate and citizens’ attitude towards issues of national interest.

He further said that true development comes from deep-seated love for one’s country and that patriotic politician with a deep love for their countries which do not perpetuate corrupt practices nor condone it.
