The National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Kofi Adams says government's decision to make public the President’s one-on-one meeting to assess his ministers’ performance is totally “unnecessary”.

He described the process as a “propaganda governance”.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was scheduled to begin meeting his ministers one-on-one from Monday, to assess their performances.

The exercise will also review the overall performance of his government after one year in office.

Minister of State in charge Monitoring and Evaluation, Anthony Akoto Osei, who prepared the evaluation of the ministers for the President, says he will not be spared.

But Kofi Adams on Neat FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ noted that the announcement of the evaluation process ‘will result to nothing’.

According to him, previous administrations went through the same process without making it public – “why is this government telling us?”

“It is part of the President’s job to evaluate his ministers. What is the announcement about if not mere propaganda?” he asked.

“Former President Mahama did the performance review with his ministers, late President Mills also did same as well as President Kufour but they didn’t make it public”, he said.
