Queues disappear at polling stations

Accra, Dec. 7, GNA - The long queues at polling centres in the morning had reduced drastically at a number of polling stations when the centre of the Dade Kotopon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region in the morning had gone down drastically by 1620 hours. The Presiding Officer Mr Jonathan Akuetteh Abbey told the GNA that there were only 20 voters left in the queue.

At the Flagstaff House Junior High School Polling Centre number C070103 in the Kanda Electoral Area of East Ayawaso Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mr George Amewunoo, the presiding officer, said the early morning queue disappeared by 1200 noon and voters started to trickle in.

By 1540 hours, when the GNA visited 262 voters out of the 425 on the register had voted. He said there were four special voters, made up of the officials conducting the poll, adding that even though there were supposed to be two proxy voters, none had turned up.
