Traders at the Racecourse Market in Bantama, Kumasi, have jointly appealed to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to select Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare, as his running mate for the upcoming elections.

The groups, comprising fruit sellers and other traders, believe that Madam Opare's humanitarian qualities and attributes make her an ideal candidate for the position, and her selection would significantly boost the party's chances in the polls.

Addressing the media on Monday morning, Madam Naomi Serwaah, spokesperson for the fruit sellers, highlighted Madam Opare's exceptional leadership skills, compassion, and dedication to public service, which she believes would complement Dr. Bawumia's presidential bid.

“Everything about Madam Frema Osei Opare shows humanitarianism, and as an intelligent woman she can conveniently complement Dr Bawumia on the ticket for the NPP”, the spokesperson stressed.

According to Madam Serwaah, traders at the market have directly benefited from Madam Opare's kindness and support, which has significantly impacted their lives.

Madam Serwaah highlighted that every notable project at the race course has been made possible under Madam Opare's leadership, demonstrating her commitment to the community's development.

She emphasized that with Madam Opare as running mate to Dr. Bawumia, Ghanaians, particularly women who comprise most of the population, would experience significant relief and benefits.

“Dr Bawumia wants to present the best choice of the NPP to retain power in 2024 but he can only achieve that when he partners with a running mate who can best complement him and we feel that in Madam Frema Osei Opare all the best attributes dwell richly”, Madam Nkrumah intimated.

They warned that if Madam Opare is not chosen, they would hesitate to vote for the NPP in the upcoming elections.
