A former parliamentary aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tema East Constituency, has called on party faithfuls to close their ranks and rally solidly behind President Mills to ensure a resounding victory in the December polls.
In a statement issued to the press at Tema, the former aspirant lauded the sterling leadership qualities of the President, for being focused on his “Better Ghana Agenda,” despite the daily distractions from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He commended President Mills for maintaining food security in the country, and stabilizing the prices of staples in the last three years.
Mr. Antwi-Nuamah condemned NPP media commentators and serial callers for their attempt to create unnecessary panic in the minds of Ghanaians about the food situation in the country, and challenged the party to be sincere about their assessment of the NDC administration in the last three years.
He commended the NDC government for creating the National Buffer Stock, the first of its kind in the country, and predicted that with the onset of the planting season, if the trend of growth in the agricultural sector was sustained, the food situation would improve tremendously by September.
On the forthcoming Biometric Registration Exercise, Mr. Antwi-Nuamah urged the electorate to take the exercise seriously, and eventually rally behind a candidate who “espouses peace and discipline, progress and development, security and the general well being of the citizenry", in order to safeguard the gains of the country’s democratic dispensation.**
