Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Enoch Teye Mensah has dismissed claims that he was assaulted by former President John Rawlings.
According to the former Sports Minister, those rumours and speculations were deliberately put out in the public domain to tarnish his image.
Some reports indicate that E.T Mensah was assaulted and slapped by former President Rawlings over a mansion he had acquired in Ningo-Prampram.
Speaking on Starr Chat with host Bola Ray Wednesday, E.T Mensah who is seeking another term in Parliament said the claims are outrageous and unheard off.
“They wanted to put the president in a very bad light…how can I go to the president of the republic of Ghana and ask him to come with me to go and have fun [in my house]…those were all lies,” the former Accra Mayor said.
E.T Mensah who has been a member of parliament since 1997 also dismissed reports that he was once the barber of the former military leader.
“That is one of the misinformation and character assassination that were put around, it is not true.
“…I wish I were a barber I would have cut his head for him. You can ask any of my children if I have ever cut their hair for them because I never knew how to do it”.
E.T Mensah described former President Rawlings as a good man and a nice person to work with.
