The 2024 presidential candidate for the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has urged Ghanaians to reject the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.
According to Osofo Kyiri Abosom, both parties have had ample opportunity to improve the country during their multiple terms in office.
He argued that if they had any meaningful solutions for Ghana, they would have implemented them by now.
Speaking during a press conference on November 9, 2024, at his church premises in Accra, he urged the electorate to consider him as the best choice for the upcoming December 7 elections, promising a fresh vision and renewed hope for the country.
He criticised the NDC’s flagbearer, John Mahama, claiming he only aims to exploit the country without offering real solutions.
He also directed his criticisms toward the NPP’s candidate, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating,” Bawumia also lacks vision. Even as a pastor, I have accomplished more than Bawumia as vice president. The factories and other businesses I have created surpass what he has done for this nation.
“These two parties only seek to benefit from the state when they’re in power,” he stated during the press conference.
“NDC and NPP have nothing to offer the country. Mahama has no vision; he only wants to return to power to enjoy state benefits. I’m sure he left something at Jubilee House, and that’s why he wants to come back,” he added.
Osofo Kyiri Abosom urged Ghanaians to see through what he called the “empty promises” of both parties and to give him the mandate to lead the nation toward a brighter future.
