NPP Flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong has come under fire and branded a hypocrite, following his call on the Church to decide who leads Ghana.

Speaking at the inauguration of Eternal Life Church in Accra on Sunday, Kennedy Agyapong, who is seeking to be the NPP Flagbearer for the 2028 election, urged the Christian community to play a leading role in determining Ghana's political direction.

“The situation we are in now requires that the Church should be bold to come out and take directions on who should be the leader of this country,” he said.

However, a number of Ghanaians on social media have branded Kennedy Agyapong a hypocrite, reminding Kennedy Agyapong of his past hostile attitude towards the church, some religious leaders and his confession of not being a fan of going to churches.

The former MP, through his Oman FM and Net 2 TV platforms, grabbed the headlines with his regular and fiery attacks on churches, branding a number of Pastors as fake men of God.

Many Ghanaians, responding to online publications on Kennedy Agyapong's latest call on the churches, reminded him about some of anti church quotes, and others shared videos of some of his wild claims.

Many also accused Kennedy of subtly hiding behind his call to play the religious card against his main opponent, Dr Bawumia, in the NPP presidential primaries.
