The biometric voter registration in the Asante-Akim South Constituency has gathered momentum after the initial slow start.

Long queues are now seen at all the centres visited by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), a sharp contrast to the virtual emptiness seen on the first day of the exercise.

At the Juaso Asikafoamantem, everything was going on smoothly as the applicants patiently waited for their turn.

Mr Charles Brefo, the Registration Officer, said a total of 163 voters were registered and issued with voter identification cards during the first two days of the exercise.

As of 0930 hours on Monday, when the GNA got to the place, 25 people had already gone through the registration.

At the Atwedie Presby Primary, 45 people had registered by 1145 hours. Added to Saturday and Sunday’s total, this comes to 229.**
