Kumasi, Sept 21, GNA - The forcibly Retired Police Officers Association has commended President Kufuor and the NPP Government for the good work they had done within the relatively short time in power. The association has also expressed confidence in the President and called on the good people of Ghana to vote massively for the NPP in the December polls.

A letter addressed to the President and copied to the GNA on Tuesday and signed by ex-Chief Inspector M.K. Tetteh said they had monitored the activities of the government since coming into power and realised that it had done a lot for Ghanaians.

It enumerated some of the achievements of the government and said six months after assuming office the NPP government paid all contractors who were owed by the state for work done.

Some senior and junior police officers that were forcibly retired in 1993/1994 were also paid their entitlements due them in 2003 in accordance with a court ruling.

It said the last batch of the retired police personnel was also awaiting their payment in full.

"This therefore is a government that believes in democracy, the rule of law and peace."

"We have made our own assessments and have seen the difference between the opposition NDC and the ruling NPP", the association said.
