The youth organizer-elect of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the newly created Savannah region, Mr. Mahama Akati, has urged the youth of the party to dispel rumors surrounding the defeat of certain aspirants in the regional election and unite for victory in election 2020.
He said the just ended regional elections of the party was a true test of democracy and the delegates have spoken, adding that, "what lies ahead of us is to deliver the Damongo seat for Lawyer Abu Jinapor and clinched another resounding victory for the party come 2020".
"Let's unite as a youth of the party and deliver victory for the Lawyer Abu Jinapor and the NPP in the constituency. In every election, there will always be winners and there will always be losers. There will equally be rumor mongers. But after the election, we dispel the rumors and come together as one to fight a common course. In party politics, we can't all get our heart desires at the same time. There is time for everyone. I promise to personally lead the crusade in Damongo constituency to get Lawyer Abu Jinapor elected as MP and clinch another resounding victory for the NPP,"he said.
The regional youth organiser was addressing youth of the party at Damongo, the Savannah regional capital, as part of his familiarisation tour and interaction with the youth of the region. He expressed appreciation to the youth for the warm reception and the confidence reposed in him to serve them at the youth front, assuring them of his full support in times of need.
He chided them against denigrating and attacking the person of prominent figures of the party in the constituency such as Lawyer Abu Jinapor.
The Deputy Chief of Staff he noted, had no direct hand in the victory or lost of any candidate and that, the tendency to mislead or assume the false position of dragging his name into the election outcome is most unfortunate and should not be countenanced by any true member of the party.
He said the least the youth of Damongo can do for this industrious young man is to appreciate and support him for all the good works and sacrifices, describing Jinapor as "a political messiah" sent to the people of Damongo.
The NPP as a party according to him, is bigger than any individual and that people must learn to be gracious in defeat.
He averred that his ultimate goal as a youth organizer is to work closely with the youth of the party across the region to deliver more than five parliamentary seats for the party in the 2020 elections.
He admonished the NDC not to tickle itself and laugh, stating that, "we are firm and solid on the grounds to bundle Garlus out of parliament for Lawyer Abu Jinapor to take over".
The youth relayed their peculiar challenges to the youth commander and commended him for the bold, courageous and impelling leadership thus far. They were confident that with Akati at the youth front, the NPP has a brighter future in the Savannah region.
