The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has praised former President John Dramani Mahama for introducing a Code of Conduct for government officials.

In a post shared on his X page on Monday, May 5, 2025, he described the initiative as a major step toward ethical governance and the protection of state resources.

"I am absolutely delighted that our crusade in opposition has not been abandoned and that we are keeping faith with the Ghanaian people and our conscience.

This new Code of Conduct gives further impetus to my Private Member’s Bill currently before Parliament, which seeks to ban politically exposed persons from purchasing state assets. State capture is dead!"

President Mahama has launched a Code of Conduct for all government appointees as part of his administration’s broader efforts to restore integrity and accountability in public office.

The initiative seeks to protect national assets and ensure that the conduct of public officials reflects the values of fairness, accountability, and responsibility.
