Mr. Muhamad Iddrisu, an aspiring Member of Parliament for the Adenta Constituency on Wednesday urged politicians to stop using the water situation in Adenta for their campaigns.

This is because previous promises on that issue had not been fulfilled over the years, said the aspirant who is contesting as an independent.

He said it had become common for politicians over the years to mount platforms and make promises to the people of Adenta who need practical solutions to their problems as a community.

“The water situation in Adenta has over the years been used to do all manner of campaigns with very little or no concrete solutions at all being offered whatsoever,” Mr. Iddrisu said in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency.

The statement said politicians over the years had campaigned with the issue to gain access to power, but thereafter payed lip service or relegate the problem to the background.

The statement said the people of Adenta had been suffering the inconvenience of having to walk very long distances to get water and those who could not had to pay so much for it.

It said in addition to the serious water problem in the Constituency, it has serious infrastructure challenges such as poor roads and youth unemployment.

The statement appealed to the people of Adenta to take their destiny into their own hands and elect someone like him who would work day and night to ensure that their problems were solved.
