Support Positive Change Chapter Two to succeed -Director

Obuasi, Jan. 27, GNA - Civil servants have been urged to contribute their quota towards the success of the government's Positive Change Chapter Two strategy.

Mr M.K. Addai, Obuasi Municipal Co-ordinating Director, who made the call, explained that they could do this only when they approached their work with a high sense of neutrality, impartiality and humility. Mr Addai, who was speaking at a New Year get-together of the staff of the Assembly at Obuasi, stressed: "You have to serve the people who come to you with humility and open-mindedness".

The Co-ordinating Director asked them to live up to their responsibilities expected of them as civil servants, commended the staff for displaying high level of discipline and appealed to them to maintain work ethics.

He urged the staff to build upon the team spirit in this New Year, saying that by dint of hard work, the Assembly had seen a steady revenue mobilisation over the last four years.

Mr Joe Boampong, Acting Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the raising of the Assembly to municipal status posed a lot of challenges to the staff.

Mr Boampong added that the way forward for the assembly included the improvement of secondary education and the removal of kiosks placed at unauthorised areas.

"We must uplift the image of Obuasi", the MCE stressed and commended the initiatives of the various department heads and encouraged them to do their work as professionals.

He assured them that he would not provide any political interference in the exercise of their duties.

Nana Asirifi Asare II, the Presiding Member, appealed to the staff to continue to work for the development of the municipality. Mr Isaac Yeboah of the Confidential Registry of the MCE was adjudged the best worker and was rewarded with a television set.
