Elmina (C/R), Nov.13, GNA - Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, a leading member of the Convention People’s Party, has appealed to the youth to vote for the right candidate to win the 2012 general election because Ghana deserves the best.

He said most often people fail to cross check the background of the candidates before they vote, resulting in the wrong choice of leaders whose performances fall below expectations and in the process make the country suffer disappointments.

Dr Nduom who said this when he met party volunteers at Elmina in the Komenda-Edina- Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality of the Central Region, added that it was time Ghanaians desist from voting along party lines and vote for personalities who are capable of turning the fortunes of the nation around.

He said he did not have it easy growing up as a child in Elmina but has been able to sail through the hardships of life and become successful through hard work and the grace of God.

He appealed to the youth to remain focused and never get discouraged when faced with challenges, pledging that he has their welfare at heart and in this regard, they should offer him the support to ensure victory in the 2012 general elections.

Dr Nduom who had declared his intention to contest the 2012 elections as a Presidential Candidate for the CPP, attended the St Joseph’s Practice School and later proceeded to St. Augustine's College in Cape Coast where he won an essay competition which took him to the United State for the first time.

He returned to Augustine's for His sixth form education and went back to the United States for further studies.

In the year 2000 he became chairman of the Board of Deloitte Africa and adviser to the African Development Bank among other several positions both nationally and internationally.

Other positions he held include: chairman of the Ghana Stock Exchange Council, Board member of Fan Milk Ghana, Board member Edinaman SHS, Board member of the Ghana Heritage and Conservation Trust and the Chairman of First National Bank.

Dr Nduom said he has a vast experience and the expertise and was therefore the best person who can lead Ghana to the “promised land”.
