Headmistress of Tema Senior High School(Temasco) Mrs. Elizabeth Asare was verbally assaulted by some angry parents who had come to the school on Thursday to seek admission for their children.
It took the intervention of some parents and officials from the Ghana Education Service who arrived at the school early on Thursday to assess the admission process to save the situation.
The action was borne out of what the parents described as an unnecessary delay in the admission process which has forced some of them who came from far way to sleep in the school for days.
Speaking to Oman News during a visit to the school, one of the parents said Mrs Asare who could not withstand the insults quickly dashed to the school’s assembly hall and threw all the prospectus away with anger.
Another parent who was unhappy about the situation said he came from Akosombo to the school last Monday to secure admission for his son but was later told to come on Tuesday and as Thursday his son had still not been offered admission.
“I was here on September 6th and was told to come this week and since Monday I have been and they authorities continue to tell as stories, ” another parent said.
