The Women's wing of the Takoradi constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party has organized a prayer retreat to seek God's intervention for the party.
The prayer is also to ask God to preserve the rank and file of the party particularly in the wake of the death of the Northern Regional Chairman.
Fervent prayers were also said for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2016 polls by the women.
Madam Rosemond Mends, the Takoradi women's organizer of the NPP explained that, it was about time the women in the party rose and defend the party with prayers since they would be most affected should there be trouble in the NPP.
" It was time women of the party rise up and cry to God to ensure peace in the NPP due to recent skirmishes that occured in the party", she noted.
"We also pray to God to protect Nana Akufo-Addo and other NPP bigwigs.
She said the women also prayed to God to help whoever would become the Electoral Commissioner to be able to give the correct verdict without fear or favour after the 2016 elections.
