Kuntenase (Ash) Oct. 13 GNA 96 Out of the 48 incumbent Assembly members in the recent district level elections in the Bosomtwe Atwima Kwanwoma District, only ten retained their seats. Mr. Joshua Ofori Prempeh,District Electoral officer who briefed the Ghana News Agency on Thursday said two out of the ten were elected unopposed.
They include Mr. Joseph Asuming, former presiding member, Emmanuel Agyenim Boateng of Kuntenase-Adum, Michael Appiagyei also of Pease and James Ntim Poku of Foase electoral areas.
Mr. Andrew Armah, Nwineso No 1 and 2, Mr. Shadrack Opoku from Trede, Mr Adu Boateng, Adwanpong and Mr David Asante Appiagyei, Bekwaimin, were also some of the victors.
Mr Ofori Prempeh said only two women out of the total of twelve who contested were elected.
He commended the electorate for the peaceful atmosphere that characterised the elections and said it was a sign that the country's fledgling democracy was fast gaining roots. 13 Oct. 06
