The embattled national chairman of the NPP Paul Afoko and general secretary Kwabena Agyepong are currently locked up in a meeting with constituency executives of the party in the Ashanti regional capital-Kumasi, Starr News has gathered.
The meeting, which is being held at a private residence near the McKeown Hotel in Asokwa, according to Starr News sources, is at the behest of the executives who have declared their loyalty for the duo in spite of the overwhelming call for their resignation.
Starr News’ Ashanti regional correspondent Isaac Bediako Justice who is monitoring developments has reported that some ‘macho-men’ loyal to the two executives have suddenly surrounded the meeting grounds upon information that the party’s regional chairman Bernard Antwi Bosiako, also known as chairman Wontumi , intends to disrupt the gathering.
The NPP is in a state of confusion as seven regional branches have called for the resignation of its national chairman Afoko and general secretary Agyepong.
The two executives are being accused of masterminding the killing of the party’s Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama and causing division in the party.
