Bibiani (W/R), July 10, GNA - Tension is reported to be mounting within the ranks of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency of the New Patriotic Party over the nomination of Mr Kingsley Adjei Manu as the District Chief Executive for the area.

The members have threatened to embark on a demonstration to express their displeasure at the nomination of Mr Manu.

In a statement at Bibiani at the weekend, Mr Simon Kwaku Amoah, a founding member of the party in the constituency, alleged that during the 2004 electioneering campaign President J.A. Kufuor said at Sefwi-Bekwai that one Mr Kwadwo Awortwe Nkansah, who contested and lost to Mr Christopher Addai, the former DCE and now Member of Parliament for the constituency and Deputy Minister of Railways and Ports, would be appointed DCE.

He said because of the assurance given by the President, Mr Nkansah supported Mr Addai to wrestle the seat from the NDC.

Mr Amoah appealed to the President to withdraw the nomination of Mr Agyei Manu ''who does not even reside in the area and is unknown to them.''
