A traditional ruler has advised Ghanaians irrespective of their religious, ethnic and political backgrounds to uphold the principles of peace and unity.
Baffour Obutu Frimpong, Chairman of Adikrofo (Sub-chiefs) in the Asamankese Traditional Area, said such values facilitate national development.
He gave the advice at the sideline of a youth group meeting, at Asamankese in the Eastern Region.
Baffour Obutu also the Odikro of Essaso in the Asamankese Municipality, used the meeting to caution the youth to say, no, to politicians who want to use them to cause mayhem, because of political differences.
According to him, no nation could truly develop in the midst of political, religious or ethnic conflicts and therefore, called on politicians to shy away from backbiting and struggle for leadership, which retard progress and development.
Baffour Obutu called on family heads to ensure that the nation’s youth are brought up in homes where peace and harmony prevails, to influence their growth and development.
