An aspiring parliamentary candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency of the Central region, Mrs. Doreen Ewuraba Mansa Manieson, has urged her constituents to give her the nod to represent them in Parliament in 2016.

According to her, there was the need for her constituents to try a woman in Parliament as all the men who had represented them in Parliament over the past years have failed to find solutions to the basic needs of people in the area.

She therefore appealed to them to give her the chance if given the opportunity to represent her party-PPP, in the upcoming elections, noting that she would be an ambassador for women and children in the area to ensure sustainable growth in the area.

Mrs. Manieson made this call when she picked up nomination form to contest the KEEA parliamentary seat on the ticket of the PPP at the party’s office in Elmina last Wednesday.

The aspirant who was the first to pick forms stated that she would make the difference and bring the necessary development to the area.

She pointed out that although she had few months to campaign in 2012, she was able to amass much votes due to her hard work, adding that “this time around we have much time because the campaign is starting early to ensure total victory in 2016.”

She indicated that the needs of the people would be her greatest concern and also promised to make women and children her primary focus.

The 52-year-old educationist promised to ensure that the drop-out syndrome of school children becomes a thing of the past.

That she said she would set up a scholarship fund that will cater for the needy but brilliant students.

“It about time a new and different candidate who will not pay lip-service to the plight of the people was sent to Parliament to turn around the fortunes of KEEA,” she submitted.

Mrs. Manieson added that she will be going from house to house to sensitise people on the need to vote for the right person to prevent them from being deceived by others.

She lauded Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom for single-handedly bringing development and creating employment for thousands of people in the area and charged the people to reciprocate by voting for the PPP to come to power in 2016.

“Dr. Nduom has been doing a lot: creating jobs for Ghanaians, it is now time for us Ghanaians to give him work to do,” she stated.
