Nkwabeng (B/A), Jan. 23, GNA - Mr Isaac Asirifi-Kudom, former Assembly Member for Nkwabeng in Nkoranza District has commended two political leaders in Brong Ahafo for their able leadership qualities. He mentioned the two as Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister and Mr James Kwabena Appiah-Awuah, District Chief Executive for Nkoranza, Mr Asirifi-Kudom noted that the addresses of the two leaders at durbars and other meetings always projected love, unity and co-operation among the people.

"Even though they belong to the New Patriotic Party, they do not use politics to divide the people", he said in an interview with Ghana News Agency.

The former Assembly Member said such attitudes showed they were matured personalities who could lead and organise people for developmental programmes.

Mr Asirifi-Kudom urged the two to continue with their good work and urged other leaders, either political, traditional or religious, to emulate them.

In a related development, Mr Kwaku Baffoe-Adamu, Assembly Member for Sikaa, also in the District, has called on colleague Assembly Members to fully support and encourage Mr Appiah-Awuah to work to meet the aspirations of the people.

He deplored the negative attitudes and practices of some Assembly Members who revolted against Chief Executives, saying "such practices have adverse effect on the development of communities".

"The youth must join hands with Assembly Members, unit committees and area and town councils and support them to initiate development programmes that would help the people to improve their lot. Mr Baffoe-Adamu urged the people to honour their tax obligations to enable the District Assembly to generate more revenue to undertake development programmes.
