Upper West DFP endorses NPP

Wa, Dec. 22, GNA - The executive members of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) in the Upper West Region has endorsed Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Presidential run off on December 28.

This followed the decision by the national executives of the party to support the NPP presidential candidate in the second round of the presidential election.

At a press conference in Wa on Sunday, the regional executives, parliamentary candidates and supporters of the party announced their unflinching support for the NPP, and promised to canvas for more votes, especially in the rural communities.

Mr Bede Ziendeng, General Secretary of the DFP mentioned

better human rights record, improved infrastructure, good policies

and the rule of law, as well as the improved living conditions of the

people, as some of the factors that motivated the party to give its

support to the NPP. They were also of the opinion that under the NPP administration

the DFP would be able to transform itself to a formidable political

party, than that of the National Democratic Party (NDC). "We have experienced that the NPP government had created an

enabling grounds for the growth of all political parties without any

hindrance and we would not want this chance and opportunity to be

taken away," he explained. Mr Ziendeng called on the executives to spread the message to

the supporters of the party in the rural communities to turn out in

their numbers and vote the NPP presidential candidate to victory. "The DFP is a party to reckon with, as it took the fourth

position in the election in the region and should not be seen as a

plaything".
