Upper West Npp Congratulates Delegates

Tue, 17 Aug 2010 Source: --

The Upper West Regional Executive of the Npp wish to congratulate all delegates for the peaceful and orderly manner they conducted themselves before, during and after the 7th August, 2010. The regional chairman, Alhaji Abubakar aka (Alhaj short) is particularly grateful to the agents of the various presidential agents for their support and co-operation given the regional and constituency elections committees. This singular act culminated in demonstrating to all Ghanaians and the whole world that internal democracy has come to stay in the party. The peaceful manner of the primaries also won the hearts and admirations of not only members of the Npp but members of the Ndc in the region.

We therefore urge all to forge ahead in unity and prepare for the greater task ahead-winning power from the Ndc, come 2012. We must leave the acrimonies of the campaign days behind us and look ahead for total victory in 2012. It is the desire of the party to increase the Npp presidential votes in the region as well as capture more seats in addition to the three existing ones- Lawra/Nandom, Wa East and Lambussie.

We also wish to thank the regional and constituency election committees for their commitment to duty. The worked hard to enure that the primaries were transparent, free and fair.

We are again grateful to the electoral commision (EC) in the region for conducting the elections according to the set rules and guidelines set by the NPP. We wish to assure the electoral commission that we will continue to co-operate with them as we prepare for election 2012.

The media equally played a very important role in all this exercise. They facilitated in educating the delegates on the guidelines for the elections. The keen manner they monitored and transmitted the results on the day of the elections made the presidential primaries even more transparent.

The security agencies especially the Ghana Police Service also played a very important role by guaranteeing peace at all polling centres. Their presence was enough to ensure the safety of all voters, election officials/materials and well wishers who were around to witness the voting process.
