Upper west NDC retains regional executive.

Wa, Nov. 20, GNA- The Upper West Regional delegates conference of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday returned all, but one of its 17- member regional executive unopposed to a four-year term in office, under the chairmanship of Mr. Malik Issahaku, a businessman. The position of Regional Secretary, which was the only position available for contest, was won by Mr Kale Cesar, a Tutor at the Wa Secondary Technical School.

He polled 53 out of the 81 valid votes cast to beat his only rival, Mr Abubakar Mutiu Rahman who had 28 votes.

Alhaji J. K. Alhassan, Naa Seidu Braimah, and Alhaji Issahaku Natornaa were returned unopposed as the first, second and third regional secretaries.

Mr Adams M. Issahaq was returned as the regional organiser of the NDC, with Mr David Deriba and Mr B.B. Yussif, as the first and second deputy regional organiser respectively.

Mr Sufuyanu Iddrisu retained his position as the regional propaganda secretary, with Mr J. N. Naatu and Mr B. K. Pougure as first and second deputy regional propaganda secretary respectively. Mr E. N. Dapilah retained his position as the regional treasurer and Madam Comfort Nabugu as the assistant.

The position of regional youth organiser went to Mr Michael Zinchere Kombol, with Mr Yahaya Yakubu as his deputy. Madam Cecilia Salamatu Adams was elected unopposed as Women's Organiser with Hajia Rafatu Dubie as the assistant.
