The Volta Region New Patriotic Party under the leadership of Makafui Woanya has begun resourcing the party’s functionaries to ensure effective delivery of their mandated duties.
The initiative is expected to increase the party’s electoral fortunes in the 2020 general elections in the stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Woanyah indicated the lack of enough logistics for party work had been identified as a contributing factor to the party’s inability to achieve desired electoral results.
“Due to this I promised to equip the party when elected as Regional Chair, so I am only delivering on my promise for the common good of the NPP ”, he added.
Presentation of pickup truck
The Ho Central Constituency secretariat of the party took delivery of a double cabin Mazda pickup truck on Monday.
Presenting the vehicle, Mr Woanyah indicated the initiative was to enhance administrative works and effective implementation of various schemes that would be designed to wrestle the parliamentary seat from the NDC.
He added plans are being incubated to replicate the presentation across the region in the near future, coupled with provision of other logistics “to ensure the Volta Region NPP is well equipped for party work.”
He extolled achievements of the government and encouraged party faithfuls to continue “to spread the good works of the Nana Addo administration”.
The Volta Regional NPP Secretary, Joseph Homenya, charged the Ho Central Constituency Executives to work in solidarity towards achieving targets for the 2020 elections, of which winning the parliamentary seat is paramount.
The Ho Central Constituency Chairman, Richard Kwadekpo, appreciated provision of the pickup truck and promised it would be used for its intended purpose.
He also assured of the unflinching support of the constituency to the political and administrative directions of the party’s regional executives.
Equipping party communicators
Mr Woanyah earlier presented 16 mobile phones to serial callers in the Ketu North Municipality, while a tablet each was allocated to the offices of the Constituency Secretary and Communications Director.
This was in fulfilment of a promise, to equip the party’s communication wing.
