Mr. Jerry Bediako, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Zonal Organiser for Abodom near Bekwai in the Amansie East District, has called on Ghanaians to vote the New Patriotic Party (NPP) out in this year’s general election. He said the ruling government had failed and disappointed Ghanaians and it was time the Party was rejected to pave way for the NDC.
He said due to the misadministration of the NPP government, people were suffering, prices of goods have shot up astronomically, there is high level of poverty, there is massive unemployment, increases in school fees and many other socio-economic problems and this called for a change of the government. Speaking to newsmen after the cancellation of a clean-up exercise at Akoma Memorial hospital by the zone that comprises Abodom, Asakyiri, Kotwia and Aboaso, the Zonal Organiser said many people were facing economic hardships and could not make ends meet.
Mr. Bediako said he was optimistic that change of government would surely come and it would be in favour of the NDC and appealed to members and supporters of the party not to relax to be overtaken by events. “Let all NDC members and supporters get up and gird their loins to strengthen the party at all levels and work hard for the return of the power to power next year, 2009.” He said the battle was not going to be easy for the party to come to power but with unity of purpose and commitment. Prof. John Atta Mills would eventually be the next President of Ghana.
