Gwollu (UW), Nov 07, GNA - Alhaji Aliu Mahana, the Vice President, on Saturday called on the electorate to vote according to their conscience and not to allow themselves to be intimidated to do so.

"The NPP government has so far proved trust worthy and evidence are there for everybody to see and if people will vote according to their conscience we shall be given another chance to complete our good works", he said.

"All you need to do is to support each other to fight poverty by sending your children to school and stop pulling each other down which will not help in any way", he said.

Alhaji Aliu said the government had imported 1,000 tractors to boost agriculture and called on communities to form farming groups to enable them acquire the machines.

On roads in the Upper West Region, the Vice President said the government would do everything possible to make roads motorable to link the region to other towns and even to neighbouring Burkina Faso. He said the government would also provide irrigation dams to support farmers to engage in dry-season gardening that would also go a long way to stem the annual rural/urban drift.

Mr Sahanun Mogtari, Upper West Regional Minister, and Professor Kasim Kasanga, Minister of science and Environment and Mr Ambrose Dery, Deputy Minister of Minister of Justice and Attorney General accompanied him.
