Under fire Northern Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Daniel Bugri Naabu is on the neck of his delegates to give their votes to Nana Akufo-Addo come the October 18 congress to elect a flagbearer.

Naabu is on a collision course with the Alan Camp, who believes his bias stance is a recipe for disintegration within the party. The camp has, therefore, called for the suspension of Naabu who expressed his displeasure over votes that went Alan Kyerematen’s way during the mini congress that whittled down the number of aspirants from seven to five.

Although the beleaguered party executive has come out to apologise for his “jest” comment, he has reiterated his call to the northern regional delegates to give their 100% support to the two-time presidential candidate of the Danquah-Busia tradition.

“When I was going to be elected… the constituency executives told me we will vote you and when we vote you go and vote for Nana therefore it was something like an agreement between me and my regional electoral people who came to vote me so I am doing it because I am honouring my promise,” Naabu told Accra-based Citi FM.

“On the 18th [of October] I don’t want any vote to go to any person apart from Nana Addo,” he stressed.

The spokesperson of the Alan campaign team Nana Ohene Ntow has said Naabu should be brought to order because the party must not be operated as if it has no rules.
