Voter Registration: NDC, NPP Causing Confusion

Fri, 19 Mar 2004 Source: PeaceFM

A report from Peacefm's monitoring desk indicates that, agents of the two main political parties namely the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are causing confusion at some registration centres visited this on Thursday morning.
The centres include Emmanuel Gospel Temple, SDA, St Anne?s church, Tesano School, Four Square all in Accra.
At the Emmanuel Gospel Church, both NPP and NDC party agents were confused as to how they should comply with directives from their party officials against what the Electoral Commission (EC) expected them to do.
Instead of writing the first and last names and serial numbers of registered eligible voters each day, some NDC agents compiled names of all registered applicants.
This elicited stiff opposition from NPP agents, although some of them have alleged that, they have also been directed by their officials to do same.
