Nkoranza (B/A), Aug. 4, GNA - Mr Kofi Frimpong, Nkoranza District Electoral Officer has cautioned political party activists not to meddle in the work of the registration officers so that potential voters could register their names without any hindrance. He deplored the practice by some politicians to visit the centers with their supporters and put pressure on registration officials to register them, saying the practice was against the electoral laws.

The District Electoral Officer was addressing the closing session of a two-day training workshop, organised by the district office of the Electoral Commission, to keep registration officials abreast with the rules and guidelines on the on-going voters registration exercise. The 84 participants included registration officers, cameramen, laminators and shaders. Mr Frimpong advised the officers to work diligently and adhere to the regulations and work to ensure that all potential voters would have the chance to register. He urged them not to play politics with their activities, warning that, any registration official caught associating him or herself with any political party would not be spared.

Mr Frimpong called on assembly and unit committee members, traditional authorities and religious bodies to help educate the people on the importance of the registration exercise. A total of 21 work stations have been created in both Nkoranza North and South districts.
