Wa, Oct. 7, GNA - Voters in Wa Municipality are not showing enthusiasm and excitement to the current exhibition of the voters register as they did during the supplementary registration exercise in August this year. Eligible voters were not at the centres visited by Ghana News Agency as some of the exhibition officials were virtually doing nothing while others dozed off.

It was only at Sing Primary School Centre, which is eight kilometres from Wa that a massive turn-out was recorded. As at 11.00 am on Monday, 208 people had checked their particulars out of a voting population of 594 at the centre. Three people who were dead had their names deleted from the register. Mr Saaka Asani, Exhibition Official at the centre said two voters complained about the wrong spelling of their names. At Danku exhibition centre, the voters checked their particulars in the register as at 11.30 am on Monday.

Miss Zulfata Inusah, Exhibition Official attributed the low turn out to a funeral in the community. The Environmental Health A and B centres at Kabanye in Wa witnessed about 125 voters checking their names and particulars as at noon on Monday. At Wa Circuit Court Centre which had a voter population of 767, 35 voters had checked their particulars.
