Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has challenged both President Mahama and the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo Addo, to support compulsory education rather than pushing an agenda that would expand access to or lead to free SHS.
The flagbearer of the Progressive People's Party stated in a piece copied to Peacefmonline.com that he supports “compulsory education as a means to give opportunity for every Ghanaian child to reach their human potential and live a good quality of life.”
Statement Below
I support compulsory education as a means to give opportunity for every Ghanaian child to reach their human potential and live a good quality of life.
I will be happy if John Dramani Mahama and Nana Akufo-Addo and other presidential candidates will also support compulsory education.
Talking "Expanding Access" or "Free SHS" won't do. Our 1992 Constitution supports compulsory education, and that is in good order.
We must all support it and push for its full implementation so that every child can read, write, count and reason for themselves. It will be a great way to make our nation strong and its people prosperous.
